Is your art remarkable? (Remark-able)
Is it worth remarking about?
Because, people don’t pay attention to what they don’t care about…
When I was in college I was always the slowest person to start my art projects. We were usually given 3 weeks to complete a project from start to finish, and I usually didn’t have progress much to show until we hit the 2 week mark.
Why?
Because I wanted my project to be remarkable.
Sure, if I would have just executed the first idea that came to mind then I would have gotten more projects done on time.. but I wasn’t interested in being punctual. All I wanted to do was make really interesting artwork.
I remember one time I turned in a printmaking project almost 2 weeks after the due date, but my gracious teacher still accepted it because it was such a stunning piece of art and I had poured so much passion into it.
Obviously being 2 weeks late in the professional world is almost unforgivable, but when it comes to social media and marketing, the remarkable things are basically the only things that matter.
